Rudolph Schindler: Kaun beach house (Richmond, Calif.)

The beach house for Alexander "Sasha" Kaun and his wife Valeria was featured in many architecture magazines in the 1930s as an example of a small, inexpensive house. Kaun was a professor of Slavic languages at UC Berkeley and his wife was a famous artist; they both knew Schindler from their time in Chicago. The house was torn down in 2010.
