Description

The John E. Barber house is an early example of Coate's Monterey Revival style-- a second story balcony, center hall, with the majority of rooms opening onto outside space. Grayson C. and John Edwin Barber were a well-to-do and prominent Pasadena couple, and the property was a prime lot with views along the Arroyo Seco.
Landscape architecture design was completed by Katherine Bashford.
