Description

This house is a departure from Coate's Spanish and Monterey Revival style. Built for industrialist Ira L. Bryner and his wife Margaret, the house was sited on an irregular hillside lot and bore the hallmarks of a Georgian Revival, with some Colonial influences. The steep and angled site allowed for views of the Arroyo Seco and the mountains; Coate sited the house to take best advantage of the view.
The extensive gardens were designed by Florence Yoch and Lucile Council.
