Dining Commons -- Ortega Dining Hall
Description
A birds-eye view of the Dining Commons patio overlooking the lagoon. The first permanent dining hall replaced the use of the Marine Air Base mess hall. The original capacity was 800 students per meal, but was later increased to 1200 students per meal. The lagoon view initially attracted students to this dining hall, but now local, organic food and sustainable practices (including composting any food waste) keep the students on campus for meals.
